(AP) – When Scotty McCreery decorates his Christmas tree this year, chances are he’ll be listening to himself. He is releasing the album “Christmas with Scotty McCreery” on October 16th. It will feature nine classic holiday songs as well as two originals. McCreery says he wanted the record to be “holly and jolly” but also express what he calls “the real reason for the season:” the birth of Jesus. His favorite song on the mix is one of the new ones: “Christmas in Heaven.” Some of the covers are: “Mary Did You Know?” “Winter Wonderland,” “Jingle Bells,” “Let It Snow,” “The Christmas Song” and “O Holy Night.”

The Tennessean says Miranda’s mom Beverly will be a consultant for the show. The new sitcom is on the same network as “The Voice,” which co-stars Miranda’s husband Blake Shelton.
